Description

The route starts at City Creek canyon.

Make your way up onto the Bonneville Shoreline trail and take the ridge line past Bobsled to the Avenues Twin Peaks.

A faint trail should lead down to the east.

Head down dry gulch to and take the first trail to summit Van Cott, maintaining the ridge line as you go.

Take the southeastern trail off Van Cott down into Red Butte Canyon.

Climb your way up and out to the Red Butte Peak, catching some views on the way up.

Mount Wire is closer now, so might as well summit it.

Head down the southern trail to connect to the roller coaster trail.

If that is not terrible, a small peak to the southeast (Princess Peak, mouth of emigration canyon) offers some extra vert and mileage for those craving more punishment.
