Description

Part of the historic Iditarod trail Crow Pass takes you into Alaska backcountry close to Anchorage.

We started at the Eagle River Nature Center and ended at the trailhead parking just uphill from Girdwood / Alyeska.

Following the Eagle River for about 13 miles then making a major crossing before heading uphill to the pass.

Glaciers, lots of bears (we just saw scat), and about 4,436 feet gain makes for a challenging day.
