Description

Belmar Park is one of the most beautiful gems in Lakewood's park system.

The park protects 132 acres of pristine grasslands and wetlands, featuring a small lake in the center. This short hike makes the most of this small park by looping around the outside and then circling back to run around the shores of Kountze Lake.

The hike consists primarily of boardwalks over the wetlands and paved trails, although you may find yourself wandering onto the occasional dirt trail as well. Thanks to the wetlands, this hike is particularly popular with bird watchers.

The wetlands attract different breeds of migrating birds at different times of the year, making this the perfect hike to re-do over and over again!
