Description

This scenic loop hike on the top of Mount Falcon is loaded with history! On this short 3.6-mile loop, you'll reach the top of Mount Falcon and enjoy 360-degree panoramic views from the elevated "Tower." Along the hike, you'll pass the cornerstone of a never-completed Summer White House intended for the President of the United States.

This summer house project was envisioned by John Brisbane Walker in 1911.

While the cornerstone was laid in 1914, the project was never completed.

You'll also pass the ruins of Walker's own mansion as well as the Eagle Eye Shelter ruins—the remains of a family home that incorporated marble from the old Walker mansion. Sources: https://nightborntravel.com/hiking-mount-falcon/ https://www.hmdb.org/m.asp?m=141085
