Description

Murray Canyon is renowned for its stunning desert landscapes, and on this hike you can expect to see towering palm trees, rocky cliffs, all set against the audio backdrop of a meandering stream.

The contrast between the lush vegetation of the canyon and the surrounding desert terrain makes this a wonderfully unique trip. The trip up Murray Canyon leads you to the famous Seven Sisters Waterfall, and it's a spectacular sight, doubly so when contrasted with the barren desert around it.

The pools which dot the river on the way up to the falls make for great swimming spots, and if you're here in the heat of mid-summer, you'll be glad of them! In addition to the natural beauty, Murray Canyon is also home to cultural sites of significance to the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, who have inhabited the region for centuries.
