Description

The Mountain View trail "boasts 5.5 miles of singletrack that winds its way between Minaret Vista and the Earthquake Fault and can be ridden either direction, though the downhill option is more popular,” according to [MammothTrails.org](https://www.mammothtrails.org/experience/23/mountain-biking-the-mountain-view-trail/).

In addition to an out-and-back ride, the trail can be shuttled using the road, or you can also ride it as a longer loop as it's mapped here. This flowing cross country trail is quite smooth and non-technical.

Delightful grade reversals along the rolling descent provide superb swoop and flow beneath the towering pine trees, and small berms in the corners will help you maximize your flow state experience! The soil consists mostly of the dry, loose volcanic pumice that Mammoth is known for, which can make some of the corners a touch tricky.

Despite a few loose corners, this trail is ultimately a very intermediate-friendly ride. With a name like “Mountain View," you can, of course, expect amazing views of the San Joaquin valley along this ride.

When the trail does pop out of the trees, stop to soak in the grandeur of the incredible area that you’re getting to ride through! Sources: https://www.mammothtrails.org/experience/23/mountain-biking-the-mountain-view-trail/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1J8EFgJ5Sw
