FATMAP difficulty grade
DC-10 is rated as a double black diamond pro-line by Mammoth Mountain.
It begins with a big rock garden at the top that requires aggressive, inspired line choices to flow smoothly through.
With wide-open sections of bench cut trail funneling into massive boulder fields, be sure to check your speed before you hit the big features! In the middle of the trail, Mammoth Mountain recently added a new set of jumps and flowy berms, which dramatically changes the character of the trail.
Transitioning from serious gnar to huge tabletop jumps can screw with your mind.
Below the jumps, the speed on the trail picks up with long straightaways that, again, randomly funnel into brutal rock gardens with soft, shifting dirt in between the boulders.
The theme is fast - gnar - fast - gnar, so be prepared to switch back and forth rapidly.
With such a huge diversity of terrain, DC-10 Requires expert-level bike handling skills on all fronts to be able to adapt to the dramatic changes and to overcome the incredible variety of obstacles. Sources: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rOxTG3kHNx0
