Description

This is a challenging MTB half marathon exclusively on Highlands private game and trout farms.

The route is not very technical, but the air is thin with more than 60% of the route above 2000 m ASL.

The start and finish will traverse the unique and scenic Robsons bush tunnels and trails. This is an exceptionally scenic route.

Prepare for one extreme downhill section on the Highlands cement road, as well as 2 challenging Jeep track / 2-spoor sections on the 4-kay off-road section through Amberly Game Farm. Mount Morgenzon will be many rider’s nemesis.

Expect more than 200 meters of ascent on the 3-kay Kruisfontein district road, or Jeep track, section.

Some riders will refuel at the spectacular Morgenzon Trout Farm before the final ascent of Mount Morgenzon. The final 11 kays to the finish will mostly be downhill with less than 150 meters ascent.
