Description

Formally on the official IMBA epic rides list, this technical ride is more challenging than its modest length suggests.

It's chock-full of roots, granite rock slabs, sharp climbs and technical descents.

If a long day in the saddle and perhaps a bit of "type-2" (“Can you show me where it hurts”) fun makes you tick, then this should be near the top of your list—even if you only do it once. The trail was designed by local trail building legend, Chris Markle.

It can be ridden in either direction, but most people ride it North-South.

This allows you to do a warm-up ride from Whistler to the Wedgemount Lake trailhead, following the Green Lake Loop.

The trail itself then travels through lush forest, with bridges and a bunch of clever technical trail features.

With the exception of one creek near the beginning there is no water available—bring plenty.

The Golden Door shortcut allows you to chop off some distance.

Young Lust, Jeffs and Wish You Were Here (aka Yummy Nectar) provide strategically positioned bail-out options.

On a dry day, with good mates, fresh legs and a well-stocked day pack this ride will leave a lasting impression—and you'll have earned that beer at the end.
