Description

The ascent of Pantani - Like no other pass of the Giro d'Italia the Mortirolo is connected to Marco Pantani.

They even placed a monument here, which the Transalp route will pass by.

This nasty ascent with an average incline of more than 10% was made for the extraordinary climbing specialists.

This is a climb to really separate the wheat from the chaff.

Anyone with a few pounds too many has to bite.

However, it is worthwhile to crank up there.

After that, the route to Aprica is relaxed and offers wonderful views over the Valtellina on one side and the glaciers of the Adamello Group on the other.

This is a short stage, but it should not be underestimated.

It’s high sporting level is determined by the Mortirolo.
