Description

Finished in the fall of 2018, this new singletrack trail, featuring old-school-style flowy singletrack, was built by Phil Penny and his Rouge Trail crew. The outer loop circles around Vian Lake with some nice views.

The trail is pretty flat on the outer loop, as it routes cyclist through the trees and along the lakeshore.

This is a good trail for beginners to work on their handling skills, but experienced riders will enjoy maxing out their speed on this flowy trail.

The inner loop has some nice downhill with tight switchbacks and forgiving ascents to welcome do-overs on the descents.

The climb back up to the top is very forgiving, so you won’t mind the effort for multiple do-overs on the descents.

There is also a nice flyover bridge with a twist to it.

These descents will be great for beginners to work on their downhill skills, and learn to lay off the brakes to flow through the turns.

They are also challenging enough experienced riders will enjoy the downhills also. Even though the number of total miles is low, this is one of those trails that rides entirely differently in the opposite direction, so you won’t mind doing an unwind ride.
