While the [Lower Faces](https://fatmap.com/routeid/434129/Lower_Faces_Loop/@43.7335676,-110.8856855,11452.4443383,-90,0,2741.5326578,normal) loop should top the list if you're looking for a quick trail run, this may be the most epic route to begin and end in Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

After taking the Aerial Tram to the 10,400+ foot summit, this run descends off the top of Rendezvous Mountain and into Granite Canyon.

In total, it descends nearly 5,000 feet and climbs less than 1,000 feet over 12 miles. According to [JacksonHoleWY.net](https://www.jacksonholewy.net/summer_recreation/chairlift_gondola_rides.php), the Aerial Tram to the top of Rendezvous mountain operates between May and October, typically from 9-5 each day.

There is a fee for the 12-minute ride, so be sure to bring some money along.

It's suggested to contact the resort at 307-733-2292 to verify the lift schedule before your run.

After the 4,100-foot climb to the summit on the tram, the run begins with stunning views from the top of Rendezvous Mountain overlooking all of Jackson Hole to the east.

Departing the overlook, the Rendezvous Mountain Trail begins with a short stretch of gravel access road, then briefly descends into a small bowl.

After an equal climb out, almost the entirety of the run is downhill. Roughly 5.5 miles in, the Rendezvous Mountain Trail will intersect the Granite Canyon Trail.

Keep right and follow it through the drainage.

Open meadows will begin to intermingle with the lush evergreen forest, and moose sightings are quite common.

As you exit through the mouth of the canyon, there are a few trail intersections, all of which you will keep right at.

There are several ways to end the run, but as mapped, this route follows the Valley Trail down.

Some variations lead onto the Saratoga Loop and pass through neighborhoods, but the depicted route is by far the best option. Sources: https://www.jacksonholewy.net/summer_recreation/chairlift_gondola_rides.php http://www.tetonhikingtrails.com/granite-canyon.htm
