Description

The Golden Horseshoe Trail System is an OHV-centric trail network that serves as a key hub for all motorized offroad recreation in the area.

While most of the trails here are actually 4x4 road width, this network is also home to some of the only moto-legal singletrack trails in Summit County.

The route mapped here attempts to make the most of those singletrack trails. While you may be looking for gnarly, challenging singletrack to dirt bike, unfortunately most of the stretches of singletrack here are rated as easy.

It’s still great to fly through the woods on a narrow track, but don’t expect to find uber-chunky trail.

However, the 4x4 roads in the network are rated anywhere from difficult to double black diamond/very difficult.

While it’s of course much easier to navigate around the challenging areas on a motorcycle, aggressive riders can choose to challenge themselves on these gnarly roads. This is a very popular trail system, so ride heads up and expect other trail users.

Also be aware that several non-motorized trails run through this network, so if you do see a singletrack trail, make sure you check the signage before ripping into it.
