FATMAP difficulty grade
From Randa, a steep climb up from the valley leads to the Charles Kuonen suspension bridge, which is the world's longest hanging bridge at 494 meters.
Once you cross the bridge, the trail contours the mountainside, rolling smoothly in contrast to the previous days big ups and downs.
This stage is actually a big day for gain, but after the initial climb to the Europaweg, the meters accumulate in a runnable gradient, and kilometers drop behind you as you make your way to the first close-up views of the Matterhorn. Before you know it, you're ready to soak your feet in the Grüensee just steps away from settling into a relaxing evening at the Mountain Lodge Ze Seewjinu above Zermatt. Bonus Peak: Oberrothorn (3414m) 7km, 775m+/- Download the GPX file here: http://bit.ly/ViaValais_Stage8
