Very challenging descent exposed by the ice passage in the middle of the wall. Very dependent on the conditions: After the evenly inclined (50-55°) well mobile upper field the rope has to be roped down through the abseiling point (2SL).

Description

Midsummer Turn - the longest day of the year.

Far above the Vallée Blanche and the lush meadows of Courmayeur we stand at the summit of the Tour Ronde, in the face of Mont Blanc, ready for the descent over the north face.

In the ascent over the two ice fields connected by a channel we could examine the changing but good conditions exactly and enjoy two pitches of finest mixed climbing.

Now we say goodbye to the Madonna statue and climb to the entrance.

And then we're off! After a careful slide in, the swings in the perfect snow become so fluid that we almost have to rein in not to drive too aggressively.

The loosened loose snow hisses over the skis down the wall and makes it clear that we are on our way in 55° terrain.

This becomes noticeable again when it gets hard and icy - just before the abseiling point where our rope is waiting, you can't afford to fall any more.

We quickly rope down before we swing free and one with the mountain over the lower field and end our season crowning with a jump over the edge gap. Complete glacier equipment, two ice machines, skis
