Description

This tour is a fine outing in the vicinity of Narvikfjellet, taking you to both south- and north-facing slopes.

The lifts of Narvikfjellet provide quick access.

Take the gondola to 656 m.

If the upper chair lift is open, you can start the tour at 1003 m.

If you start at the gondola top station, first follow the Linken ski trail up to Linken (Fagernesfjellet, 1003 m).

Continue towards Andretoppen and Tredjetoppen, following the ridge.

Be very mindful with cornices on your left (north facing)! Always stay on the south side of the crest.

The high point is Tredjetoppen (1272 m), where you can take your skins off.

The first run takes you down the second-to-last one of "the Fingers" - usually among the ones with the least tracks.

The run can be considered moderate, but careful route-finding and strategic stops to re-evaluate terrain are needed.

There are steep roll-overs and small cliffs that should be avoided.

Ride the route as long as you want - a good point to transition is at 770m, though with good coverage you could ski further down.

As you re-ascend, follow your descent route for a while, before heading left (direction NW).

Easy terrain leads you back to the main ridge.

You can now either ski back to the lifts the way you came, or ski the north side, "Jordraset" (there are several alternatives to the shown line).

Fun fall-line skiing take you to tree line, where you can choose to ride the trees or more open terrain.

As you hit the road, follow it until a hard turn left at ca.

230 m elevation.

There are usually ski tracks to follow.

Follow the XC-ski track (some pushing required, boarders will need to take boards off here and there) back to the lower t-bar lift of the ski area.

Lifts then can take you back to your tarting point.
