Description

This trail passes the "Chrizbode" area, over the Triftalp, past the Weissmies Hut, all the way to Hohsaas.

The path to the Triftalp also leads to the Trift Chapel, built in 1939, and offers breathtaking views of the majestic Mischabel massif and Saas-Fee.

This hike features a huge 1,500 m difference in altitude, but it is possible to take a gondola lift for certain sections of the trail.

The trail starts at the Hohsaas Bergbahnen valley station, follows the valley descent towards the "Unter dem Berg" area, where the path turns right (facing uphill), towards the Ziebel play area by the Triftbach stream.

Before the bridge, the trail heads south and zigzags up to the Brunne Alpine pasture and on to Triftalp.

It then leads through the beautiful pasture, over the Triftbach stream, and meanders alongside the valley descent over the "Spiss" to Kreuzboden.

From there, the path between the piste and the ski lift follows the moraines in an easterly direction towards the Weissmies Hut, which can already be seen from a distance.

The way to Hohsaas passes the Weissmies Hut above the Tamatterhang, turns south towards Point 3004, and then leads over the ridge and on to the second section of the Hohsaas mountain station.
