Description

At the foot of the Rax is the Waxriegelhaus, which is open all year round at 1361 metres above sea level.

As a nature park partner, the hut offers a quiet, traffic-free and natural environment with forest and pasture.

This pleasant atmosphere can also be enjoyed during the ascent from Preiner Gscheid.

At the top of the pass, the popular starting point for numerous hikes, there is still a lot going on and before the ascent you can eat at the Edelweißhütte.

After a few meters you are surrounded by the silence of the forest and reach the Waxriegelhaus in about one hour.

Here the hiker can fortify himself with our own Waxriegelbier and various culinary delicacies, such as Styria-Beef specialities.

From Preiner Gscheid you can also comfortably walk up the forest road to the Waxriegelhaus, which takes a little longer, but does not have any steep inclines. Always take suitable maps with you.

Put on sturdy shoes adapted to the tour, take sun and rain protection, water and a snack.
