Description

This trail leads to the equalising reservoir at Zermeiggern, passes the Zermeiggern Chapel, and then joins the beautiful path that runs into the Furgg Valley.

This path was already being used hundreds of years ago by tradespeople travelling between Italy and Switzerland.

At Stafel there is a small Alpine pasture that is still farmed to this day. This beautiful trail leads from Saas-Almagell to Zermeiggern.

The use of snowshoes is recommended.

Once the Furggbach stream has joined the Saaser Vispa river, the trail continues along the left-hand side of the valley up to Stutzbode and Stafel.

The trail offers some fantastic views of the Furggbach gorge.

After crossing the bridge at Stafel, the path forks off westwards and leads over Furggu and Chalchofe to Elschgrabe before descending to Chapf and Furggstalden.

For the descent, you can take the chairlift from Furggstalden to Saas-Almagell.Note(s)Pay attention to the chairlift's operating times and to the weather conditions.The trail crosses the ski slope in some sections.See alsoSaas-Fee/Saastal TourismObere Dorfstrasse 2CH-3906 Saas-FeeTel: +41 (0)27 958 18 58E-Mail: info@saas-fee.chHomepage: www.saas-fee.chSaas-Fee/Saastal TourismInformationsstelle Saas-AlmagellCH-3905 Saas-AlmagellTel: +41 (0)27 958 18 88Saastal Bergbahnen AGPanoramastrasse 5CH-3906 Saas-FeeTel: +41 (0)27 958 11 00E-Mail: bergbahnen@saas-fee.chHomepage: www.saas-fee.ch/bergbahnen
