Description

Lonely winter landscapes and a fairytale forest lure you on the snowshoe trail towards Göscheneralp.

The simple snowshoe trail begins near the Göschenen hydroelectric power station, which can be visited by appointment.

It first leads along the Göschenerreuss, a tributary of the Reuss, which rises from the Chelen glacier.

Remarkable: The chapel on the other side of the river near the hamlet Abfrutt.

It is dedicated to the avalanche patron Matthias.

On the way back through the snow-covered Bitzi forest, you reach the highest point above Ängi (1194 m above sea level).

At the end it goes downhill again: At first gently and after a hairpin bend a little steeper downhill, the trail is trudged towards the finish at the hydroelectric power station. SticksSnow shoesAvalanche equipment ( LVS, probe & shovel)
