Analysing terrain data
2 - 3
The exposure grade does not take into account objective hazards (stone fall, seracs, etc) but only the consequences of the skier falling.
Low Exposure (E1): Exposure is limited to that of the slope itself. Getting hurt is still likely if the slope is steep and/or the snow is hard.
Medium Exposure (E2): As well as the slope itself, there are some obstacles (such as rock outcrops) which could aggravate injury.
High Exposure (E3): In case of a fall, death is highly likely.
Extreme Exposure (E4): In case of a fall, the skier faces certain death.
The itinerary begins on a forest road for warm-up, then climbs into the forest, and continues in a ridge with a breathtaking view of the surrounding peaks to end at L'Homme de Pierre with an original view of Serre Ponçon Lake. The descent is made through the marked and secure ski slopes, with a choice of difficulties for beginners and experienced skiers alike. The ascent route can be used during the opening hours of the ski area without risk of collision with skiers, and outside avalanche risk areas.

For more information: skitouring.decathlon.fr
