Went for a snowy tour of the Loess Hills State Forest Mondamin Unit. It was snowing gently, just a little breeze, and about 34 degrees. Beautiful day. Pretty impressed at the hike for IA. Steep and actually had the feeling of "exposure" on the last ridge. Cool!

Description

Tucked back in the hills of rural Iowa, this route has some great scenery of the Missouri River Valley from up on top of the ridges of the Loess Hills.

Some parts of this trail are very steep and decently long which gives your calves a good burn and heart a good workout during the climb.

There are a lot of trails around this Mondamin Unit, but this is a nice loop that goes around the perimeter, but also has some nice wooded scenery.

Very cool!
