Description

This zone is home to some of the finest trails known to man or woman! Tignes and Val d’Isere’s purpose-built mountain bike trails are some of the best you’ll find anywhere. The Popeye Trail is a 12 kilometer "Green" run with 850m of descent.

It's designed as an easy downhill track for downhill beginners.

That said, you still need to know how to ride a mountain bike in a mountain area in order to be comfortable on this trail.

The route takes you from the top of the Bellevarde mountain back to the valley floor at Val d'Isere. If you’re thinking, “Pah, who wants to ride a mere green?” The answer is, "anyone with any sense, that’s who," because the trails are so well designed that whilst a novice can have fun and learn on them, an expert can absolutely blast on them, and have just as good a time as the newbie.

Popeye is mostly smooth, machine-groomed, with a slightly wider trail tread, with a gentle downhill gradient.

There aren't any steep parts, no jumps, and no technical sections.

You'll get to enjoy many bermed turns, but they are all very easy with wide tracks, and aren't too steep. To access Popeye, take the Olympique gondola to the top.

The trail starts from the gondola exit.

The park lifts are open from the end of June to the end of August.
