Description

One of the Chamonix Valley's most scenic snowshoe routes with unrivalled views over the Aravis, Fiz and Mont Blanc ranges, this trail takes in beautiful snow covered alpine meadows in a very pleasant 2km loop with the option to extend the journey to the Col de Voza depending on snow cover.

Starting at 1850 meters it is one of the area’s most snow-sure snowshoe itineraries.

The small and sparse trees of the Plateau du Prarion ensure that the views are never hemmed in and that you will have a true sense of being in a winter wonderland. Starting from the Prarion turn left and walk downhill briefly to where there is a viewpoint marked and a first aid station.

Here there is also a ‘zone d’apprentissage’ which is designed for practicing some snowshoe skills before heading out.

If you want to stick to the 2km loop follow the sign posted ‘Retour des fatigués’.

The trail is relatively flat and is not too strenuous if the itinerary described here is followed.
