Description

Situated on the outskirts of Les Bois and Les Tines there is an excellent network of trials within thickly wooded hills of the old moraine walls of the Mer de Glace.

The spruce and larch trees here are typical of Chamonix woodlands and make for a picturesque winter forest when there is adequate snow cover at the valley floor. This loop takes around an hour and has a total elevation gain of 150 meters.

It is an excellent introduction to Fatbiking in the Chamonix Valley as there are several options to either shorten or lengthen the ride with little commitment.

Starting from the Les Tines train station, ride uphill towards the viewpoint of the Drus on top of the old moraine.

Stop a moment to take in the exceptional views of the Drus towering above.

Continue downhill towards the river before cutting back right.

The terrain is very playful and experienced riders will find abundant natural features and cut throughs to have fun with.
