Description

The Doolans sit just over the backside of The Remarkables and play host to some awesome skiing, just a short bootpack and return skin from the chairlifts. This area represents an entire face, where you’re welcome to choose any line down, as long as conditions are suitable. The face is split up by shallow couloirs running down the top section, before they open out down in the valley below. You can generally ski down as far as snow conditions allow – we’ve shown return access from where the snow conditions usually allow on an average year. This area is a fantastic place to pop over away from the busy resort and find some awesome turns away from the punters. Bootpack in a north easterly direction up the face directly behind the Sugar Bowl chairlift.

Ensure that avalanche conditions are safe before embarking on this short hike as this face does frequently slide. Once you’re up on the ridgeline, you can really choose the descent you fancy and shred your way down, with some awesome views straight down the valley to your north. Once you’ve ridden down to the obvious flat section, it’s then best to reattach your skins to start the ascent up to Windy Col, which gives access back to resort and more laps.
