Description

With great anticipation of our final destination at the SalzAlpenSteig we embark on the last stage, which takes us from Hubert von Goisern's birthplace to the famous Hallstatt.

Through friendly maple and beech forests decorated with snow roses, we hike along the Solesteig past countless waterfalls and magnificent vantage points.

The hike runs between the foothills of the Dachstein massif (Gosaueck 1484m, Schneidkogel 1552m and Hühnerkogel 1386m) and the Hallstättersee lake and leads the hiker to many interesting information points and sights on the subject of salt.

At the end we literally hike once more through "hell" before we enjoy a magnificent view over the lake and the Dachstein from the salt mine and descend to the UNESCO World Heritage Site Hallstatt.

The crossing of Lake Hallstatt to the opposite side is by ship (ship station below the Sechserkogel).

From here we hike along the railway tracks in a southeasterly direction to the centre of Obertraun, the destination of our last stage. equipment
