Description

From Hütteldorf train station, it’s a short walk to the Lainzer Tiergarten’s Nikolaitor entrance, where there’s a natural spring drinking fountain.

Inside the Tiergarten you’ll find a patchwork of hilly forest and meadows, with sublime views and a good chance at spotting wildlife like deer and boar. After strolling through this naturesque setting for some time, you’ll get the opportunity to replenish yourself at Rohrhaus rest house, which is tucked in the forest at a crossroads of several paths.

Next, the path goes downhill through a graben and comes to the elegant Hermesvilla, which was built as the royal palace on the Lainzer hunting grounds.

From there it’s only a short distance to finish the stage at Lainzer Gate. Note that dogs are not allowed in Lainzer Tiergarten, and the park closes in winter.

If you must detour for one of these reasons, take the alternate [Route 2](https://fatmap.com/routeid/825905/rundumadum:-stage-6-route-2) instead. Sources: https://www.wien.gv.at/umwelt/wald/freizeit/wandern/rundumadum/etappe6.html https://www.lainzer-tiergarten.at/
