From mountaineer village to mountaineer village: Following in the footsteps of the salt minders, we hike on the historic salt trade road from Hintersee in the mountaineer village of Ramsau through the valley of the eagles and alpine pastures over the Bindalm and the Hirschbichlpass to the mountaineer village of Weißbach in Austria.

Description
The trail follows the historic salt trade route from Ramsau over the Hirschbichlpass to Weißbach ( http://www.berchtesgadener-land.com/de/klausbachtal-hirschbichl-ramsau/ ) (A).
The route used to be a central transport link, and for centuries salt from Berchtesgaden was transported to Pinzgau by pack animals. Today the Almerlebnisbus ( https://www.berchtesgadener-land.com/natur/wandern/nationalpark/almerlebnisbus-ramsau ) runs on the route between the two mountaineering villages Ramsau and Weißbach.
