Description

Today's SalzAlpenTour starts from the Gasthof Bärenhütte in the protected landscape part of the "Bluntautal", which is known as a local recreation area due to its beauty.

Light pebble beaches form the banks of the Torrener stream and its tributaries, which we cross twice at the beginning of the tour.

Then we pass the Bluntautaler waterfall on the forest road (20 min.) and a little later we turn into the forest, where we immediately go steeply uphill.

The forest here is strongly influenced by rockfalls, which also influence the flora, e.g.

the protected Wild Moon Viole grows here, which like here is mainly found in gravel-rich canyon forests.

Through this rockfall landscape, the noise of the Fischbach stream in the ear between mosses and ferns is a rather steep climb for a long time.

Only after we have left the cooling wall behind us does the terrain become somewhat flatter.

We reach a wonderful alpine meadow through a game gate, dive back into the forest immediately, but arrive a little later at the next alpine pasture.

Our intermediate destination, the Untere Jochalm, is now only a few moments away.

On this mountain pasture we can hardly get out of our amazement: gigantic, rugged rock massifs rise to all sides of our field of vision, in between there buzz filigree butterflies in various colours.

The descent takes place along a forest road that makes its way back down to the valley in countless serpentines. equipment Solid shoes are recommended! At the signpost at the Bärenhütte you can read whether the Untere Jochalm has opened.

To be on the safe side, be sure to bring your own snack/breadtime.
