Description

The six-hour hike begins at the mountain station of the Uetlibergbahn.

Shortly after the station we are surprised by the model of the sun, enthroned on a stand as a large yellow ball.

Here begins the Planet Trail, which we briefly leave with the ascent over the Uto Kulm with its enormous panorama, viewing tower and restaurant, but which otherwise accompanies us as far as Felsenegg.

The descent from the Uetliberg summit leads down many steps to the ridge valley, where the old Ämtlerweg leads from Sellenbüren to Zurich.

A little later the view opens to the east, we stand at the edge of the largest erosion funnel of the Albis chain, the Falletsche.

Our path now descends slightly to the Berghaus Balderen and then, leaving the Planetenweg, climbs slightly up again to the former Balderen Castle and to the top station of the only cable car in Canton Zurich, the Adliswil-Felsenegg (LAF) cable car.

Past the Restaurant Felsenegg, with the impressive view of Lake Zurich, we hike through fir forest to Buechenegg, where the narrow road from Langnau leads into the Reppisch valley.

The path then climbs slightly again and leads almost 2 kilometres through magnificent woodlands until we descend to the open incision of the Albis Pass.

We have completed half of our hike on the Albispass, the bus stop offers the opportunity to take buses to Langnau or Hausen am Albis.

A slightly ascending natural road takes us to the observation tower on the Hochwacht and over the castle hill of the Schnabelburg ruins to the Schnabellücke. We have to earn the following quite steep and stony climb to the highest elevation of the Albis ridge, the 915 m high Bürglenstutz.

On the wooded mountain ridge the ridge path leads us to the Albishorn with its guesthouse, where we can enjoy the impressive view again.

We continue on the narrow ridge path and forest paths to Schweikhof and then over open terrain and along the Talbach stream to Sihlbrugg. equipment Normal hiking equipment
