Description

The Rax round represents a *2-day hike* on the Rax plateau.

Starting point is the *Raxalpen Berggasthof* directly at the mountain station, which can be easily reached by cable car.

On the tour we will see beautiful peaks with breathtaking views and cosy mountain huts.

The first stop is the *Ottohaus* , which offers as a special feature a 4000m² alpine garden with about 200 alpine plants typical for the region.

The hike leads over the Hohe Kanzel, along the Preiner Wand, which is very popular with climbers, to the *Neuen Seehütte* , which owes its name to a small lake that, however, seeped away shortly after the First World War.

Over the Trinksteinsattel and then over lush alpine meadows you come to the *Karl Ludwig Haus*, which *offers itself as a base for the two-day hike*.

The next goal is already the *Heukuppe*, at 2007 meters above sea level the highest point on the Rax.

Then it goes over the Grasbodenalm down to the *Habsburghaus*, where you can also *night* ideally.

Fresh and lively, we return via Scheibelwaldhöhe to the starting point at the top station of the Raxseilbahn cable car. equipment Always take suitable *maps* with you.

Put on sturdy *shoes* adapted to the tour, take sun and rain protection, water and a snack.

Take your *mobile phone* with you and save the emergency number of the mountain rescue: 140
