Description

A long narrow chute that opens into a wide bowl, Summit Chute Right starts at the top of The Throne and offers 800 vertical feet of consistent fall line.

This chute is the narrower of the two chutes that split the summit of the Throne and this is the one on the right.

The two chutes join together just above the bowl below, which is known as Hamburger Basin.

Summit Chute Right is the steeper of the two chutes and can also be rocky at its narrowest part.

Access this chute by hiking the ridge to the top of the Throne.

Unlike Summit Chute, it is possible to access Summit Chute Right only when the Southback gate is open.

Enter through the gate and return to the Hamburger side, dropping into the first chute.

This narrow chute funnels between two rocky ribs, and is just wide enough to link turns.

Watch out for a traverse track below the chute as it opens into the wider bowl.

The best turns are often found next to the trees.
