Description

From Grindelwald follow signs for the Kleiner Scheidegg along the railway track to Alpiglen.

Keep climbing up through cembra pines, through the Mettla trough and up to the Kleine Schiedegg, where you’ll see as far as the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and deep down the valley of Grindelwald, overlooked by the magnificent Wetterhorn.

From the pass, start to descend down through woodland, past Wengernalp to the spa town of Wengen.

The trail leads through a railway underpass, on a steep winding downhill road through woodland once again, and into a valley, across a meadow and finally, after 17km, arriving at Lauterbrunnen.
