Description

Kessel Run may just be the perfect mountain bike trail for taking a friend who has literally never ridden a singletrack trail before, a kid on a strider bike, or basically anyone that you want to convince to love the sport of mountain biking! This two-mile descent swoops and flows down a banked gulley on an almost perfectly-smooth singletrack trail with essentially zero obstacles to deal with.

This smooth, fast, flowy descent perfectly exhibits the kinesthetic magic of the mountain biking experience—even to the uninitiated! After swooping and flowing down the hillside, cutting back and forth on the slightly-banked turns and maybe even catching air on a roller or two, your newbie friend is guaranteed to be hooked! The route mapped here climbs the popular singletrack ascent of Prime Cut.

While Prime Cut is an excellent climbing route in the 18 Road trail system, it’s possible to make Kessel Run even easier by pedaling up the smooth gravel road to the top of the trail.

Or, if you have friends or kids that you want to truly roll out the red carpet for, *drive* them to the top for what may just be the chillest shuttle run in the world! Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S34-0-4__E
