Description

The best way to reach this beautiful circular trail is to take the gondola lift to Hannig.

From there, the hike begins along a woodland path to Mällig (2,700 m a.s.l.), where hikers can enjoy a wonderful view over the Saas Valley and the majority of its 4,000-metre peaks.

Then it is a pleasant and mostly flat walk past the Gebidum to the next waypoint at 2,604 m a.s.l., followed by a steep descent to join the Saas-Fee - Grächen high-altitude trail. The remainder of the hike is a pleasant, gentle descent that leads past Senggboden, shrouded in legend, and Bärenfalle before finishing back in Saas-Fee.

This is a demanding tour and therefore not very suitable for children. The trail got its name for a reason.

This is a popular area for ibexes and, with a bit of luck, those who remain quiet are often rewarded with the chance of a close-up photo.

One particular highlight of the trail is the alternation between wooded and rocky mountain paths. #Note(s)# Pay attention to the cableway timetable.
