Description

This is an amazing beautiful tour with possibilities for long decent's down big wide bowls.

You can do it as a day trip starting from the top of the Gemsstock cable car.

Ski down to the beginning of the tour or you can do it as a tour after a night at the Vermigelhütte and then finish the day with a cold beer in Andermatt. The east facing side of the peak of Piz Alv is very exposed to wind and does therefore gets hard packed and icy, so if you really want to make it to the peak remember your crampons, but otherwise you can traverse across to the entrance of the bowl as we did. For the traverse out make sure to keep your speed up as it gets pretty flat.
