Description

The Bodmen Woodland Trail is a beautiful and gentle trail that leads through the larch forest between Saas-Almagell and Saas-Fee.

This trail is perfect for those looking for a relaxed walk and can even accommodate pushchairs (provided they have appropriate tyres).

Along the trail, hikers pass the Waldhüs Bodmen with its own petting zoo - a perfect stop when walking with kids.

This path is part of the Monte Rosa hike, and the whole trail provides hikers with spectacular views over Saas-Grund, the Saas Valley and the pyramid peaks of the Bietschhorn. The trail begins at Postplatz and leads towards the panorama bridge and the valley station of the Alpin Express.

Once hikers have crossed the bridge, they follow the trail as it branches off to the north-east along a road that is still tarmacked at this point.

After a slight incline, the trail continues along a wide woodland path, passing Waldhüs Bodmen, until it reaches the outskirts of Saas-Almagell.

From here, hikers can either catch the Postauto bus back to Saas-Fee that leaves from the village square, or continue on foot to Saas-Grund and Saas-Fee. #Note(s)# Pay attention to the Postbus bus timetable. The path can also accommodate pushchairs (provided they have appropriate tyres). *¶ So lake ¶ Saas-Fee/Saas Valley Tourism Obere Dorfstrasse 2 3906 Saas-Fee Phone: +41 (0)27 958 18 58 E-mail: info@saas-fee.ch Homepage: www.saas-fee.ch Restaurant Waldhaus Bodmen 3906 Saas-Fee Phone: +41 (0)27 057 20 75 E-mail: info@waldhues-bodmen.ch Homepage: www.waldhues-bodmen.ch equipment * Good footwear * Weather dependent clothing: always carry a waterproof jacket with you. * Headgear * Sun protection * Water bottle * Binoculars (optional) * Camera * Hiking poles (optional) * Map/ printout of the trail (click on "Print" to download)
