Kirkwood Mountain Resort is a year-round resort in California south of Lake Tahoe that focuses on skiing and snowboarding in winter. Kirkwood is one of the region's largest resorts, and is well known for having one of the highest average snowfalls and a broad selection of advanced skiing terrain. The 2 mi ridgeline is of particular note making this resort popular for cliff drops and cornices.

Located in the southwest corner of the volcanic Long Valley Caldera on the eastern edge of California’s Sierra Nevada Mountain Range; Mammoth Mountain lives up to its name by offering over 3,500 skiable acres and a 3,100ft vertical drop. The resort is home to modern facilities, excellent terrain options, and an extended ski season that can sometimes last into July. The mountain has a variety of expansive bowls, tree skiing, wide open groomers, steep chutes and world-class terrain parks. Most visitors stay in the town of Mammoth Lakes, California. The resort is a great starting point to explore the Sierra Nevada Mountains and is only about an hour drive from Yosemite National Park.
