The Bushranger Bay to Cape Schanck hike is a coastal track located in the Mornington Peninsula National Park in Victoria, Australia. The hike is an out-and-back route (although variations are possible) that begins and ends at the Bushranger Bay car park, and takes hikers on a scenic journey along the coast of the park.

Description

At just over 12 km / 7.5 miles in length, the hike takes 3-4 hours to complete. Moderately challenging, walkers will face some steep and rocky sections. Hikers should be in good physical condition and bring plenty of water, snacks, and sun protection, as the weather in the Mornington Peninsula National Park can be quite hot and dry.

Along the way, hikers will pass through a variety of different landscapes, including eucalyptus forests, heathlands, and sandy beaches. The hike also offers beautiful views of the surrounding coast, including the waters of Port Phillip Bay and the rugged coastline of the park.

One of the highlights of the hike is the opportunity to visit Cape Schanck, a rugged headland that offers stunning views of the surrounding coast. There are swimming spots along the way, but it is not advised as there are few patrols and the waters around Cape Schanck are strong (beware rip tides and large waves).
