Following the Erskine River, the trail passes through dense rainforest and crosses numerous small creeks and streams. Along the way, hikers can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding landscape, as well as a variety of flora and fauna. As well as the Erskine Falls, the trail also passes by the Erskine River Rapids, Splitter Falls, and Straw Falls - all impressive in their own right.

As the trail approaches Erskine Falls, hikers will be treated to the sight of the beautiful falls, which cascade down a steep cliff into a deep pool below. The falls are a popular spot for swimming, and there is a viewing platform from which hikers can get a great view of the falls.

The hike to Erskine Falls via Splitter Falls is a longer and more challenging route than the more popular hikes to Erskine Falls. It is suitable for experienced hikers who are in good physical condition and are prepared for the challenges of a longer and more strenuous hike. However, the reward for completing the hike is the opportunity to see some of Victoria's most beautiful natural features, including Erskine Falls and Splitter Falls.
