Flinders Peak Walk - You Yangs National Park Map

Within an hour of Melbourne, the You Yangs rise out of the otherwise flat plains that surround the Princes Freeway on its way to the Great Ocean Road.

Description

While the hike to the summit of Flinders Peak is accessible and popular, it is possible to enjoy quiet moments on the trail - and at the peak. A 360 degree vista of the Victorian plains awaits those who reach the summit, with stunning views (in particular) of Melbourne's spectacular skyline.

Setting off from the car park on Turntable Drive, follow the well-signed Flinders Peak Walk as it winds it's way up towards the summit. The trail is relatively easy (and dog friendly), and takes in plenty of local flora and fauna - and sometimes the local wildlife.

Check conditions in the local area before setting out on the trail, and be sure to take water - particularly in the summer months.
