Wilhelmina Falls, Murrindindi Scenic Reserve Map

Flowing down a 75m steep granite rock face, the Wilhelmina Falls is the highlight of the beautiful Murrindindi Scenic Reserve. There are multiple options when it comes to taking the trail - from an easy 6km / 2 hour out-and-back return to the more challenging 12km / 4 hour loop through this part of the reserve. Whichever option you take, you're guaranteed some stunning views, and plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife.

Description

Starting out from the Wilhelmina Falls car park, the trail head begins with a pleasant stroll through the towering eucalyptus trees and fern-covered ground. The falls are not far away; in fact, you can often hear them from the trailhead. Taking a left up the Wilhelmina Falls Track, ignore the picnic spot and instead climb up to the viewpoint.

It's worth noting that you should not venture away from the official viewpoint - the rocks are slippery and the fall is big!

At this point you can either choose to return via the same route, or continue up above the falls and along the Boroondara Track that winds through Gum forests as it makes its way back down to the Murrindindi River Walk. Keep your eyes peeled for the local wildlife as you follow this track through the forests and back towards your car.
