Description

From the guesthouse "in der Kreh" to the Feuerkogel (2 ½ hours)At the sign in front of the guesthouse our path 832 starts over the Langbathbach and on to a forest road. Now left over a brook, but then immediately right and country time on the forest road up to a hunting lodge. Soon after this a steep climb follows on the right up to the former Pledialm (beautiful view). Further up through the forest, then the now more difficult climb turns left, crosses steep mountain slopes and leads to a rock face. Soon after you pass under the cable car and in a right turn you reach the mountain station of the Feuerkogel, which climbs up to the Rieder Hütte (2 hours)From the mountain station of the Feuerkogel cable car you hike along the plateau edge on a well-developed hiking trail to the west. We pass several huts until we reach the valley station of the Heumahdgupflift. Afterwards the slopes of the Heumahdgupfes are crossed and it continues to the left to the Gasslhöhe. This is a classification between the Heumahdgupf (right) and the Großer Steinkogel. The path now descends into the Edltal, where another path to Alberfelskogel branches off to the right. The route continues uphill again in a southeasterly direction, crossing the mountain pine covered southern slopes of the Gamskogel, to the junction of the marked hiking trail to the Großen Höllkogel. The trail then leads straight ahead up and downhill to the Rieder Hütte.
