From the railway station Steeg-Gosau we go to the close railroad crossing - left over the Traun bridge - along the main street. After Gasthaus Zur Post we turn right and follow the Erlenstraße to the locality St. Agatha. Then right on the main street - after the bridge left across the roadway up to the locality Sarstein. After we turned left by the crossing we turn right on the way no.690 up to Sarstein. At the former Simony view we cross in the red ditch and climb up to Untere Sarsteinalm. Then we turn right on the foot track no. 692-trough a rocky flank up to a small fence. Finally over the lawn slopes up to the summit. Then we follow the path no.692 approx. 2km to Sarsteinalm. After this we hike downwards in many serpentines to Obertraun.
