I was looking for a day hike from the Tyaughton Lake area that would have great views and some alpine terrain. This route fit the bill nicely. After switchbacking up the ridge we dropped down into a beautiful meadow with wildflowers. This definitely looked like ideal bear territory, so make sure to pack bear spray and keep an eye out. After gaining the ridge we connected with the 'Ridge-o- rama' trail to create a loop and connect back with the North Cinnabar trail. This ridge was spectacular, with gorgeous views in every direction.
