This is a popular trail running route which is generally considered to be severe. It's very remote, it features extreme exposure and is typically done between May and October. From a low point of 398 m to the maximum altitude of 1.5 km, the route covers 10 km, 1153 vertical metres of ascent and 1154 vertical metres of descent.

Description

This loop is the traditional 5040 peak route on the Cobalt trail but includes a Ridgeline traverse on the 5040 NW Ridge Trail. The views are spectacular and this trail is seldom busy making it a truly magical experience.
