If you're pushed for time but want a quick workout and some fresh air, look no further. Easily accessible from Chamonix centre but surprisingly peaceful, the Argentière Cross Country Ski Track is well worth seeking out.
Description
There's actually a maze of tracks in Argentière so consider this route a fun suggestion for getting to know the area rather than a set itinerary. Begin in Les Îles and follow the natural shape of the valley north-east through farms and past the village of Les Chosalets (which is where you need to buy a ticket for the track if you don't have a season pass) into the forests above the Grands Montets ski area carpark.
Traverse these forests, passing through a tunnel under a ski piste at one point, all the way to the eastern end of Chemin de La Moraine in Argentière village, and then reverse the route back to Les Îles.
