This couloir, on the west side of the Crete du Tourmalet is facing south instead of west. Also, on it's other side, are a series of couloirs that face northwest instead of west. Because of their different aspect, these couloirs can be options when west facing isn't happening. Approach by skinning up the Oncet valley or by traversing across from the top of the Panoramic ski lift and dropping into the valley. Then come to the base of the couloir and skin/boot up. See www.couloirquest.com for more into and photos. The difficulty rating for this route uses the posted FATMAP criteria.
