On the north face of Pic de Barrasse are several interesting lines. The Kerr Krolic Couloir is the most prominent, and best filled-in on that side. It is a classic descent, ranging from 40-45 degrees, except for the top 30m or so, where it is about 50 degrees. The top of it is also an entrance into the Barrasse East Couloir. One can exit out to the D918 road, or ski all the way down to the lower valley and out to the 'big bend' in the D918 road, or skin up west and descend the Pene Blanque down into La Mongie. A wonderful ski with wonderful views! More info and photos at www.couloirquest.com. The difficulty rating for this route uses the posted FATMAP criteria.
